I am a work in progress. As a lover of learning, I am personally challenging myself to learn new things, to share what I've learned, and to learn from the experience of others.
Currently, I work as an elementary librarian. As a former high school English teacher, the change to the elementary level has been one of the more challenging and rewarding of my career. I love the enthusiasm of elementary students and teachers, and I am thoroughly enjoying my own personal growth.
After two years working in an elementary school that I loved, I will be taking over the library position at a new school. I am very excited for the new opportunity, and look forward to meeting many new people over the next few weeks.
My goal as an elementary librarian is to encourage a love of learning and reading in students and support faculty and staff by sharing and acquiring the best resources I can find. I strive to be a partner in the process of making learning experiences exciting.
With a new position will come a new schedule, new faces and new challenges. I am sure that as the year progresses my approach will change, and I look forward to seeing my own personal growth.
This is where I am now. Let's see how I progress.
